I’ve never known anyone who actually went on a honeymoon. To me honeymoons are the subject of old romantic comedies.
My other image of American honeymoons derives from the Aks Prudie column on Slate. People write in with horror stories of how friends and relatives have become creatures of monstrous greed known as Bridezillas.
