Keep A Breast Foundation distributes I [Heart] Boobies bracelets in an effort to foment greater awareness of the risk of breast cancer.
Students are wearing the bracelets to schools prompting many school officials to forbid wearing them on school property.
Adolescent girls greatly interested in the development of their own know most slang expressions for breast. Pretending the word boobies will lead to evil is simply foolish and another proof of that seemingly invinicible truth that the older generation becomes sappily foolish and seek to control what is beyond its power.
Better a girl become ill and die than see a ‘naughty’ word.
Wearing the bands could further the aim of Keep A Breast – to raise awareness of the condition. Some students also wear the bracelets out of respect for loved ones who have had the disease.
